  4. What is EZChat?
  5.  
  6.     EZChat is a System 6 and 7 compatible server based chatting program that works over multiple zone appletalk networks that is extraordinarily easy to setup and use.

  8. Why is EZChat better then other chatting programs?

  11.     •    Works with system 6 and old macs!
  12.     •    No annoying Program to Program Communication Logins!
  13.     •    Runs fine in an SE sized screen with only 200k of memory!

  15.     •    Runs great when it's not the foreground application without hurting         
  16.             performance.
  17.     •    Supports up to 50 simultaneous users and up to 20 unprocessed messages
  18.     •    The scroll back buffer fills available memory then automatically purges itself
  19.             as memory gets low

  21.     •    Supports private messages between users
  22.     •    Notifies of persons logging in and out

  31. How to use the thing:

  33. To host a chat:
  34.  
  35.     1. Start up the program (Make sure appletalk is on first)
  36.     2. Change your chatting identity to whatever you want in the config menu
  37.     3. Select Host from the configure menu so it becomes checked
  38.     4. Click Begin Chat (The computer will beep a few times) and now your a host!

  40. To join a chat (After someone on the network has decided to host one):
  41.     
  42.     1. Start up the program (Make sure that appletalk is on first)
  43.     2. Change your chatting identity to whatever you want in the configure menu
  44.     3. Select Begin Chat from the file menu.
  45.     4. Pick a chat to join
  46.     5. Chat away

  48. Special Commands

  50.     /<Type user Name Here>:    <-Sends what ever is after colon only to specified user
  51.     /List                                                                     <-Lists all the users in the chat

  54. Kicking people off:
  55.  
  56.     If your a chat host and you want to kick someone off just click on their name in that little window that pops up by the chat and then click disconnect.

  64.     If you use this program for more then 30 days you are obligated to send me $20 + $10 for each additional user license which you wish to register at your current facility.  If you do this I'll even send you a copy of EZChat that will let you password protect your chats.  One user license entitles you to run this program (to load it into memory and execute it) on no more then ONE computer at the same time.
